DIGITAL PRESENCE & PERSONAL BRAND FOR JUNIOR ATHLETES

Building strong foundations for the journey ahead

The journey of every young athlete is filled with opportunity and potential, and understanding personal brand can help them navigate that journey with greater knowledge, confidence and direction.

Our athlete brand workshops are a positive, age-appropriate introduction to athlete brand building. We help junior athletes understand what a personal brand really is, what their brand is made up of and how brand building can contribute to different areas of their journey through sport and beyond.

Rather than assuming every young athlete should immediately start building a public profile, the session gives them a strong foundation of knowledge.

Athletes can then make informed choices about whether, when and how they would like to take steps to build their brand.

Helping young athletes understand who they are, what they want to be known for and how to show up online with purpose.

Young athletes are developing their identity at the same time as they are developing in their sport.

Their experiences, interests, values, personality and ambitions all contribute to who they are and increasingly, social media is one of the places they express that.

Digital Presence & Personal Brand for Young Athletes helps young athletes better understand their personal brand and gives them practical skills to communicate it confidently and purposefully.

The program takes a holistic approach to athlete development, focusing on the person as well as the athlete and encouraging young people to recognise the qualities, interests and experiences that make them who they are.

For some students, sport may lead to collegiate, elite or professional opportunities. For others, their sporting journey may take a different path.

Either way, developing self-awareness, confidence and the ability to communicate who they are are skills they can carry into life beyond school and sport.

DIGITAL Presence & Personal Brand for Young Athletes

Workshop - 45 minutes - in person or online.

Toolkit - Social media content and resources

THE WORKSHOP

45 minutes - Suitable for athletes aged 16-18 years.

An engaging, interactive session that helps young athletes understand why their personal brand and digital presence matter, and gives them practical skills to show up online with greater confidence and purpose.

Athletes will explore:

  • Why their digital presence matters — understanding that coaches, teams, sporting organisations, schools, selectors and potential partners may encounter their online presence, and how what they share can contribute to the impression they create.

  • Who they are beyond their sport — identifying the personality, values, interests and experiences that make them who they are and what they want to be known for.

  • How to share their brand purposefully — creating content that brings more of their personality, interests, values, sporting journey and life beyond sport to the surface.

  • Making considered choices online — thinking about audience, privacy, boundaries and the lasting nature of what they share.

  • Assessing sponsorship and brand opportunities — understanding what is being offered and expected, whether a brand aligns with who they are and what they stand for, when an opportunity may not be right for them, and who they should involve before making a commitment.

Athletes leave understanding that their personal brand is something they are already building, and with practical skills to take greater ownership of how they communicate who they are, both within sport and beyond it.

THE KNOWN ATHLETE TOOLKIT

Helping athletes put what they learn into practice.

Following the workshop, athletes receive access to the Known Athlete Toolkit, a practical digital resource they can return to throughout the year for ideas, guidance and inspiration.

The Toolkit helps athletes move from understanding their personal brand to confidently communicating it online.

Athletes can:

  • Find content ideas created specifically for them, giving them inspiration for what to share beyond training and competition results.

  • Create a simple content plan that turns their ideas into light and achievable actions.

  • Learn through short videos covering personal brand, social media and communicating their story.

  • Return whenever they need inspiration for what to share or how to bring more of themselves into their online presence.

The Toolkit is designed to fit around the realities of being a student-athlete, giving them practical support whenever they want to create content, develop their brand or think more purposefully about how they show up online.

WHY INVEST IN YOUR ATHLETES' PERSONAL BRAND & DIGITAL PRESENCE?

Giving athletes these skills early helps them understand the impact of their digital presence, make thoughtful choices about what they share and build a stronger sense of who they are beyond their sporting performance.

It is also an investment that extends beyond the athletes who go on to collegiate, elite or professional sport. Self-awareness, communication, personal responsibility and the ability to represent yourself confidently are skills every young person can carry into further education, work and life.

Develop the athlete. Develop the person.

If your school is committed to developing well-rounded, confident young athletes, we'd love to work with you.
